"Unable to register you to the network, try again later"

I logged on today, decided I needed more xp, so I went to the nether for quarts not realizing what would happen. I rtp to the nether then while I was loading I was stuck there, on a page that said "negotiating." Now when I try to log back onto the server, it just says Unable to register you to the network, try again later.
